The Use of Medicinal Plant Products in Combination with Some Allopathic Medicines in the Treatment of HIV/AIDS

It is well known that HIV/AIDS patients suffer from a number of diseases simultaneously. Detailed scientific studies indicate that in most cases the patients suffer from the following ailments: suppressed immune system; severe nutritional deficiency; viral infections; fungal infections; severe inflammation; acidosis; nerve damage; bowel collapse; dermatological infections and autotoxicity. To this end any effective treatment should address these problems both from a point of view of treating prevailing ailments and prevention of further or possible infections hitherto not experienced by the patient. In this study effective and safe medicinal plant products were used to treat HIV/AIDS patients in combination with allopathic drugs such as bactrim and aspirin. The results obtained indicated that the CD4 counts increased, the CD8 counts decreased, the viral load decreased, the liver function improved, the weight increased and the general quality of life improved. The results compared very well with the antiretroviral treatments implying that this treatment is very effective.
