Video Transfers and Duplication
Liberal Arts ITS has the facilities to transfer and duplicate video among several formats in the three most common video standards: NTSC, PAL, and SECAM. Instructors must clear all copyright issues before duplication. Available formats include:
  VHS

  Mini-DV
  Hi-8
  3/4" U-Matic
  16mm film (transfer only)

On a case-by-case basis, as time permits, Liberal Arts ITS has the facility to transfer existing NTSC VHS video footage to the Video CD (VCD, MPEG-1) or DVD (MPEG-2) format for playback on a computer (Macintosh or Windows computer using Quicktime) or DVD player. (Note: Discs should work in most DVD players that can read VCD and DVD-R formats.)

College of Liberal Arts faculty and staff are charged a labor fee of $5.00/hour for transfers or duplication. Faculty and staff from other colleges are charged a labor fee of $15.00/hour. Liberal Arts ITS charges a media fee of $2.00 for each CD-R disc, and $5.00 for each DVD-R or VHS video cassette supplied. Faculty and staff may provide their own recordable media. Payment may be made with cash, personal check, or UT account number.
