Description

I took this photo while walking around Old Town in Shanghai where tourists are abundant. I noticed a unique voice and tone being used in most of the Chinese signs in the market and they seemed to be reaching out to foreigners to attract them into specific stores or restaurants. This venue in particular seems to be reaching out to visitors interested in an authentic Chinese dessert!

English language in China

I found that a surprisingly large number of signs were translated into English which made traveling for us much easier.  This also shows that the Chinese were very accommodating to American tourists and made us feel welcome.  It was clear that the Chinese like Americans and saw a value in the tourism dollars we bring to China.
