The advance in information technology and communications networks such as the Net have greatly increased many social thinkers concern for the loss in privacy. I could not find any informaiton on the increase in economic efficiency.
EPIC Current concern is stopping legislation regulating pornography on the Net. As economists, you should realize that if individuals paid for each transmission on the Net instead of paying only a flat fee or zero, the problem would be greatly reduced.
