These are fantastic signs to know now while you're just starting to learn ASL. Being able to ask someone to sign more slowly or to repeat what they've said when you didn't understand will be a useful skill even when you're a more advanced signer, so its good to get into the habit now. It's never a good idea to just feign understanding with a nod and a smile.
