Civil Rights Demonstration in Washington D.C. (1963)

Sometimes people who do not feel like they can get directly involved in the political process choose to gather and protest as a group in an effort to bring attention to their cause. During the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s this demonstration was held in Washington D.C. in between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. It was at this demonstration that Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his now famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
