Welcome to the Humpty Dumpty Portal

The basic premise of this portal is that, like the king's horses and the king's men of the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme, the user is asked to put a broken text together again (hopefully with a better success rate). The texts presented in the exercises have been randomly scrambled at the word or sentence level, and the user is asked to restore them to their original order, using a drag-and-drop mechanism.

The most common exercise type has a sound file attached to it, and the user is prompted to listen to the sound file and re-arrange the text segments accordingly. The sound file can be paused and replayed as many times as necessary. Upon completing the exercise the user is asked to click the "check answer" button. The results are displayed to the user.

All users should begin with the two Humpty Dumpty Portal Practice exercises, in which two versions of the nursery rhyme, in their Hebrew translation, are presented for unscrambling. For the benefit of guest users who do not work in Hebrew, we provided the nursery rhyme in English.
